BMW ConnectedDrive Services & Apps in the BMW 6 Series Convertible.
Communication, information and entertainment – BMW ConnectedDrive Services & Apps give you a whole new experience of mobility. You can simply install apps such as "BMW Connected" on your smartphone and connect the device with the iDrive in your BMW 6 Series Convertible by means of a snap-in adapter. This enables you to access Facebook and Twitter messages or calendar entries on your car display, for example, or obtain information on your current location via "Wiki Local" directly in the cockpit.








CONNECTED DRIVE SERVICES.
The equipment option ConnectedDrive Services forms the basis for using the personalised digital mobility assistant BMW Connected in the vehicle as well as the BMW ConnectedDrive functions, which provide the driver with a wide range of information, entertainment and service features while on the road.
The offer includes access to current location-based information such as weather and news, as well as an online search powered by GoogleTM and practical office functions. Services and features such as parking information, as well as travel and hotel guides can be accessed directly in the car without a smartphone via the ConnectedDrive menu.
Convenient, unlimited access to selected smartphone apps is also integrated. ConnectedDrive Services also provides access to the BMW ConnectedDrive Store, in which services and apps can be ordered and extended anytime and anywhere to suit the user's individual requirements. The equipment option ConnectedDrive Services offers all this and more, making every trip in a BMW a real experience.
Apps
The Apps equipment feature is a platform enabling convenient use of selected smartphone apps in BMW vehicles. To make a variety of apps available for their customers, BMW not only develops its own apps, such as BMW Connected App and the BMW M laptimer, but also works closely with partners like Spotify, Napster, GoPro, Deezer and Audible so that those apps can also be used safely inside the car. Simply attach a compatible smartphone to the vehicle via the Snap-in adapter or a smartphone USB cable, or wirelessly. All of the app's functions can then be conveniently operated via the iDrive Controller. The selection of apps available for use in the car is constantly expanding thanks to close partnerships between BMW and a variety of different suppliers. For further information see www.bmw.com/apps.
BMW Car Hotspot LTE
The BMW Car Hotspot LTE via WLAN provides the opportunity to enjoy a fascinating high-speed internet experience even while on the move. A range of different end devices can be used for this, from iPod™ and iPad™ through to laptops and mobile phones of various different manufacturers.
Preparation for Apple CarPlay®
Thanks to Preparation for Apple CarPlay®, drivers can conveniently use a compatible iPhone® conveniently and wirelessly while driving. This allows smartphone content and functions such as music, iMessages/text messages, telephony, Siri, navigation and selected third-party apps, to be displayed and operated in the regular manner, even via the vehicle's user interface. Preparation for Apple CarPlay® can be used via touch input, the iDrive Controller or voice control, depending on the vehicle's equipment. Apple CarPlay® lasts for three years and can subsequently be extended via the BMW ConnectedDrive Store.
Microsoft Office 365
Work productively on the commute. Thanks to perfect integration of Microsoft Office 365 in the vehicle, emails, contacts and calendar entries are continuously synchronised with other devices and can be edited directly – even without a smartphone. Plus, Skype for Business conference calls can be automatically joined with just one click.




CONCIERGE SERVICES.
Request specific information on the road and receive practical information and tips – Concierge Service by BMW ConnectedDrive make it possible. At the touch of a button this convenient service connects the driver to a BMW Call Centre employee, who acts as their ""personal assistant"" on the road.
Whether a particular restaurant, the nearest cash dispenser or an emergency pharmacy – the BMW Call Centre agent is there to help and can even send information directly to the BMW navigation system. It is also possible to conveniently reserve cinema tickets while driving. Concierge Service works independently of your mobile phone and are available both at home and abroad, around-the-clock, seven days a week and at no extra cost.

BMW CONNECTED.
BMW Connected is a personal mobility assistant which facilitates everyday mobility and aids drivers in reaching their destinations relaxed and on time. All relevant services are also remotely available at all times on iPhone und Apple Watch via the app.
Destinations that have been found in the web or via other application such as Yelp, Apple Maps, Google Maps can be easily and conveniently imported into BMW Connected and seamlessly transferred to the vehicles navigation system with just a single click. Meetings, including addresses and intended arrival times, saved in the iPhone calendar are automatically imported into the BMW Connected mobility agenda. Based on current location and traffic conditions, BMW Connect calculates the planned arrival time, alerts users ahead of time and guides them on foot from the parked car to their final destination. If a delay is unavoidable due to unforeseeable traffic obstacles or if no parking space is available in the immediate vicinity of the final destination, users can send a text message via BMW connected to inform the waiting party of the estimated time of arrival, without having to physically use their phone. In addition, BMW Connected learns to recognize frequent destinations and automatically adds them to the mobility agenda.

ONLINE ENTERTAINMENT.
The perfect song for every situation, every road and every mood. Online Entertainment offers direct and unlimited access to more than 22 million music titles inside the BMW – all without a smartphone or other device. There are plenty of tracks here to suit every taste. As soon as an artist's song or album is played in the car, it is automatically downloaded to the car's hard disc. For guaranteed listening enjoyment without any interruptions.
With the Online Entertainment offer, a flat-rate account lasting one year can be opened with any BMW music partner, for example with Napster, which can be used in six different European countries at no additional cost: Germany, France, the UK, Italy, Spain and the Netherlands.

REMOTE SERVICES.
With the Remote Services of the BMW Connected App (available in the Apple App Store), various vehicle-related functions, such as locking and unlocking the car, can be operated remotely.
Just as the BMW ConnectedDrive customer portal, the app also offers the opportunity to access vehicle information such as range or the status of the windows and doors. That way the driver is always fully informed about the status of the vehicle, even from a distance, and also has all information conveniently gathered together at one glance.
This information package is rounded out with the display of the vehicle’s current location. To use this feature, customers simply need to activate Remote Services once in the BMW ConnectedDrive customer portal at www.bmw-connecteddrive.com.

REAL TIME TRAFFIC INFORMATION.
Real Time Traffic Information (RTTI) provides the most up-to-date traffic information at all times. Precise details about the location and duration of delays are transmitted in order to keep the driver informed, practically in real time, about the current traffic situation on motorways, country roads and on many routes within the city. Intelligent alternative route suggestions help the driver reach
the destination as quickly and efficiently as possible. Furthermore, Hazard preview warns the driver about events such as serious accidents and heavy rain. These hazards are then displayed on the map in the vehicle display. If the driver approaches a hazard, a specific warning appears.
The data are drawn from such sources as anonymous movement profiles from the GPS data of vehicle fleets, smartphone apps and police reports, and also takes into account established traffic patterns such as peak commute times.
The traffic information is clearly presented, with the roads depicted in green, yellow, orange and red. Furthermore, the equipment option Real time Traffic Information also includes On-Street Parking Information for a more specific and efficient search for parking space.

INTELLIGENT EMERGENCY CALL.
The Intelligent Emergency Call guarantees fast, targeted assistance round-the-clock as well as support from trained staff – in the driver's native language, even abroad. If an accident takes place involving the activation of an airbag or the belt tensioners, an Intelligent Emergency Call is automatically issued. Relevant details such as the exact position of the car, the severity of the accident and the possible risk of injury to occupants are transmitted to the BMW Call Centre via the car’s built-in SIM card, i.e. independent of a private mobile phone. The BMW Call Centre will inform the nearest rescue coordination centre and provide assistance over the phone until the rescue services arrive. The emergency call can also be triggered manually in case other road users require help, for example.
