The sole inline six-cylinder is employed in the BMW 1 Series and 2 Series. Eight cylinders and an impressive acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h in 4.0 seconds make the BMW M550i xDrive a truly exceptional athlete. As if that were not enough: with 4 turbochargers for the first time ever, the BMW M550d xDrive featuring the M Performance TwinPower Turbo inline 6-cylinder diesel engine offers extremely sporty acceleration figures. Also guaranteeing boundless driving dynamics is the BMW X3 M40i, with its M Performance TwinPower Turbo inline 6-cylinder petrol engine of the latest generation delivering 265 kW (360 hp) at a maximum torque of 500 Nm. The aluminium engine in the BMW X4 M40i lines up at the start with a forged steel crankshaft and components from the high-performance engine of the current BMW M3 and M4 models. The only V12 petrol engine with 610 hp is reserved - for the BMW M760Li xDrive. Impressive power units with driving characteristics further intensified by their spine-tingling, emotive sound.
