The design features of the BMW X1.

The BMW X1 radiates a seductive thirst for action: from the superb BMW kidney grille and the Adaptive LED headlights as well as the LED fog lights, via the 19“ wheels in Y-spoke style and the wing mirror with LED-Projektion “X1”, through to the LED rear lights and impressive tailpipe trims. Awaiting you as you enter is the Ambient light running discreetly through the whole interior. The instrument panel is additionally embellished with decorative contrasting stitching, which also features in the Dakota leather Oyster upholstery and in the floor mats. The adjustable rear seat provides flexibility through additional space in the rear seating area or more stowage capacity in the luggage compartment.

BMW kidney grille.

The massive double kidney grille with a connection in the middle, as well as the facetted kidney grille slats that clearly protrude from the frame lend the BMW X1 an extremely striking front.

Adaptive LED headlights.

The adaptive LED headlights include low-beam and anti-dazzle high-beam headlights (BMW Selective Beam) and turn indicators with LED technology. The equipment also features cornering lights, daytime running lights and adaptive light control for an illumination of the road adapted to the driving situation.

LED fog lights.

LED fog lights increase short-range visibility in fog or precipitation, improving safety. The colour of the light they emit is remarkably similar to daylight. They also consume little energy and have a very long lifespan. The fog lights give the front of the vehicle a high-tech, modern appearance.

The exterior mirror on the driver's side shows a two-colour “X1” LED projection next to the vehicle when it is unlocked. This welcome greeting also includes the illumination of the door handle recess.

The two-part Rear lights with LED technology in characteristic L design consist of one lighting segment in the body of the vehicle and one in the tailgate. Thanks to the dynamic brake light function, the drivers of vehicles behind are warned by flashing brake lights should the vehicle brake hard in a hazardous situation.

The instrument cluster, designed in Black Panel technology, has a matt black surface with two fine chrome rings and is integrated into the instrument panel in a modern and elegant way. It shows the driver the additionally desired, relevant contents in a coloured 5.7" display in the middle.

Adjustable rear seats.

Options for using the boot space are particularly flexible thanks to the numerous ways in which the rear seats can be adjusted to either increase leg room for the rear passengers or maximise loading space in the luggage compartment, whichever has priority. The 60:40 splitting rear seat can be slid forward or back by up to 130 mm. The rear seat backrest can even be folded down in a 40:20:40 split.

The 8-speed Steptronic Sport transmission offers incredibly sporty gear changes. In SPORT mode and with the gear lever in the left-hand S/M position, the gear shifts are configured for maximum performance.

Displays and controls.

In line with the state-of-the-art driver orientation in a BMW, all displays and controls are neatly arranged and within easy reach. They are clearly grouped into the four major categories of driving, comfort, display and operation. This means that new drivers can quickly find their bearings and the amount of time their eyes are diverted from the road is kept to a minimum.

The full-colour BMW Head-Up Display projects information relevant to the journey directly into your field of vision, thereby allowing you to fully concentrate on driving. Driving Assistant Plus.

The Driving Assistant Plus equipment provides a clear improvement in safety and comfort. It includes the Approach control warning and Person warning with light city braking function, Lane Departure Warning, the High-beam assistant, the Speed Limit Info, camera-based Cruise control with Stop&Go function as well as the Traffic jam assistant.

Parking Assistant.

The Parking assistant makes parallel parking easier. The system works by measuring potential spaces while driving past them at a low speed. When a suitable space has been found, the Parking Assistant takes over steering, while you are responsible for selecting the correct gear, as well as pressing the accelerator and brake.

Telephony with wireless charging.

Telephony with wireless charging includes a wireless charging dock and an additional USB port. A roof aerial connection improves mobile reception. Two mobile telephones and an audio player can be connected simultaneously via Bluetooth. In addition, there is Bluetooth Office.

Preparation for Apple CarPlay®.

Why go without the features of your iPhone in your BMW when you can continue operating it as usual? The Preparation for Apple CarPlay® gives you remote access to telephony as well as apps like iMessage, WhatsApp, TuneIn, Spotify and Apple Music. You can also use the voice button on the steering wheel to access Siri, Apple’s voice assistant.

Automatic tailgate operation.

Automatic tailgate operation allows convenient opening and closing of the tailgate – simply press the button in the door trim panel on the driver's side or on the vehicle key. The tailgate can also be opened in the conventional manner, using the outside handle, and closed pressing a button on the inside of the tailgate.

Intelligent energy management is one of the main pillars of the BMW eDrive concept. This system coordinates the interaction of all BMW drive components with the electric motor in order to combine the best possible efficiency with great driving dynamics, and to increase the electric range.

eDrive modes.

With the eDrive button you can choose between three different electric drive modes: When starting the vehicle, the AUTO eDrive mode is active by default. The purely electric drive mode MAX eDrive allows a higher electric drive output. In SAVE BATTERY mode, the battery charge level is maintained at up to 90% during the drive.
