CONNECTED UP TO FREEDOM.

BMW ConnectedDrive Services & Apps in the BMW M2 Coupé.

The BMW M2 Coupé offers unlimited possibilities – and not only when it comes to driving dynamics. With Services & Apps, you can connect up your vehicle: Use Go Pro and the BMW laptimer app to record your driving performance.

BMW M LAPTIMER APP.

With the BMW M laptimer app, driving data from the racetrack can be accurately recorded, bend by bend, and then analysed with the aim of improving driving performance. The app uses BMW sensors to collect detailed data from the vehicle and shows selected results in the Control Display. The system is operated via the iDrive Controller.

While it is recording, the BMW M laptimer app shows the GPS position, speed, forward acceleration, lateral acceleration (G-force), lap times and acceleration up to a certain speed (e.g. from 0 to 100 km/h). Depending on the vehicle equipment and model year, factors measured may also include the accelerator position, steering angle, deceleration, rpms and gear, as well as fuel consumption.

The recorded information can be shared as a snapshot on social media while the data saved can be sent via email.

ONLINE ENTERTAINMENT.

Via the integrated infotainment system, Online Entertainment offers constant access to more than 30 million music titles from our partners Napster or Deezer. In addition, the music is available wherever listening is convenient – every other supported device also has access to the music titles, even outside of the car. Easily and conveniently.

CONNECTED DRIVE SERVICES.

The equipment option ConnectedDrive Services forms the basis for using the personalised digital mobility assistant BMW Connected in the vehicle as well as the BMW ConnectedDrive functions, which provide the driver with a wide range of information, entertainment and service features while on the road.

The offer includes access to current location-based information such as weather and news, as well as an online search powered by GoogleTM and practical office functions. Services and features such as parking information, as well as travel and hotel guides can be accessed directly in the car without a smartphone via the ConnectedDrive menu.

Convenient, unlimited access to selected smartphone apps is also integrated. ConnectedDrive Services also provides access to the BMW ConnectedDrive Store, in which services and apps can be ordered and extended anytime and anywhere to suit the user's individual requirements. The equipment option ConnectedDrive Services offers all this and more, making every trip in a BMW a real experience.

  • Preparation for Apple CarPlay®

Apple CarPlay®-ready supports the convenient and wireless use of selected iPhone® functions in the vehicle. This allows smartphone content, along with functions such as music, iMessages/text messages, telephony, Siri, navigation and selected third- party apps to be displayed and operated via the vehicle's user interface and via Voice control.

BMW CONNECTED.

BMW Connected is a personal mobility assistant which facilitates everyday mobility and assists drivers in reaching their destinations relaxed and on time. Mobility-relevant information such as recommendations for optimal departure times are available remotely via smartphone or smart watch and can be seamlessly transferred into the car.

REAL TIME TRAFFIC INFORMATION.

Real Time Traffic Information (RTTI) collects current traffic information about motorways, main and country roads and the most important urban routes. It relays information about delays and dangers almost instantly. The best alternative routes are suggested accordingly. On-Street Parking Information is included, making the parking space search more efficient.

INTELLIGENT EMERGENCY CALL.

INTELLIGENT EMERGENCY CALL.

The Intelligent emergency call guarantees fast, targeted assistance round-the-clock as well as support from trained staff – in the driver's native language, even when they're abroad. If an accident takes place involving the activation of an airbag or the belt tensioners (for example), the system automatically issues an emergency call. Relevant details such as the exact position of the car, the severity of the accident and the possible risk of injury to occupants are transmitted to the BMW call centre via the car’s built-in SIM card, i.e. independent of a private mobile phone. The BMW call centre will inform the nearest rescue coordination centre and provide assistance over the phone until the rescue services arrive. The emergency call can also be triggered manually, in case other road users require help.
